Anti-Corrosion Film Galvanizing System
We provide “Film Galvanizing System” containing 96% zinc (dust) in its dry film. It does not contain any toxic elements allowing contact with potable water.
Its high content of Zinc allows a galvanic couple to be formed between the steel substrate and the system, which ensures an active galvanic protection of the steel.
The zinc in this system sacrifices itself, protecting the steel beneath in a comparable way to hot-dip galvanising. Upon impact, the electron flow resulting from a potential difference between the Zinc and steel will prevent the steel from corroding.
As the system oxidizes, a layer of zinc salts slowly builds up on the system surface, closing the film and enhancing the barrier effect of the coating. Next to this, a supplementary barrier protection is provided by the binder in their system.
The binder reduces the depletion of the Zinc, providing a long lasting protection.
In contrast to hot dip galvanization and metallization, this Film Galvanizing System can be easily applied -like a paint-using a brush, roller or paint pistol on a clean steel surface.
While this system looks like a paint, it has some distinct characteristics: it has an unlimited pot life and will not peel off or crack.
